Rear brake light wires is the common spot to check for a short...
also check the brakes blue wire at the front & rear switch circled in pictures...

 

ive had the same problem on my kawi for months and the taillight wire was rubbed through if its not that just go ober all the wires and you will proboly find a rubbed through spot somewhere

 

I've had it twice. First was the taillight wire. Second, there are some brown wires that run underneath the fuel tank. Extremely difficult to find. When finding that brown one was when I had the harness stripped down. No problems since.

 

These are some great suggestions, I will look at these spots and see if I can find anything. Thanks!

 

I had my tail light wires melt to my headpipe once and caused the 30amp fuse to blow, i wrapped it up with electrical tape and rerouted it around the cranckcase vent hose bracket and zip tied it out of the way.

 

i saw the wire that comes from the pc3 come lose and tuch somthing that blew my friends 30 amp fuse. as soon as i got my quad home i took the plastic off and removed the head lights and tail lights also wraped my wires in black tape. it took a few nights but ive never had an issue

 

Well we found the yellow/brown wire headed to the fan had a little bare wire showing. Taped it up and cleaned all connections, ran it for a while until fan came on and went off again still running.....we shall see.

 

That was my second "fuse blower". Sometimes it would last an hour or so. Sometimes five minutes. The most frustrating part was finding the danged thing. I didn't find it. Had a friend strip my harness and he finally found it that way. Hope that takes care of it for you.

 

Well took it back to the beach and rode around for a few hours with no blown fuse. I sure hope it is fixed.

i'm having the same problem. blowing 30amp fuse. while i'm riding the bike just cuts out and fuse blows. noticed that my fan isnt coming on, but that fuse is not blowing.i disconnected the sensor and the fan does work... HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
